Smile…

Here is a quote that’s simply too beautiful not to share:

“A smile is the beginning of peace.” – Mother Teresa.

I found it at the folllowing wonderful website, which I’ll be visiting often…and you may also love: www.inspirational-quotations.com.

Enjoy :-)

“Begin it now!”

Is this quote actually attributable to Goethe or not? It’s under fascinating debate at: About.com.: German Language. Bottom line they say: ‘No’.

To paraphrase Oprah, “What I know for sure” about publishing a book, blogging, and the whole internet explosion is this:

One day I will look back and think: ‘My word, I was a beginner…but at least I began!”

“Go big or go home!”

Just tweeted this in response to a question: ‘What’s your favourite quote?’. If not #1, it’s definitely up there.

I first heard it years ago from Lance Klusener, ex-SA big-hitting cricketer, and he demonstrated it often. Thanks to him for all the hearty entertainment, and the same goes for Graeme Smith & our Protea team, holding their own in the current ICC World T20 series. Way to go, Guys, we’re proud of you!!

P.S. … pity we didn’t make it all the way to the final, but better luck next time :-)

“What I give out returns to me”

I’ve just found the most fabulous site for affirmations: http://www.vitalaffirmations.com. Shuffle the virtual cards, select one, and there you have it.

The one I chose turned out to be about kindness – “What I give out returns to me”. I love this!

“Just do it!”

I just did it: finally wrapped up the finishing touches to my first novel. How fitting that it should be on voting day, fifteen years on from the landmark election of Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s own “ambassador of the Earth”, which forms the crux of the background to the book. Heart-felt thank you to him for his inspiration, as well as so many others who have made this possible – first and foremost, my husband, Dave.

“Yes, we can!”

Thank you, President Obama, for your stirring message. It came to mind this morning during a challenging gym session, and it helped!

“Dream Big”

Drawing courage from Ryk Neethling and Jenna Clifford’s message to “Dream Big”, I’m placing my vision out there. It incorporates the succesful publication of my novel (which is approaching completion) in South Africa and the USA, as well as its adaptation into a screenplay. The story is based in Cape Town, the site of much movie activity, currently including “Free Willy 4″ and “Playing the Enemy”, which has brought Morgan Freeman, Matt Damon and Clint Eastwood to the country. It is a setting so rich in natural beauty and cultural diversity, that it begs to be filmed.
